Chubusangaku National Park Posters – Graphic Design

Chubusangaku National Park is located in central Japan and is Japan’s oldest national park. It also happens to be my home now.
Unlike national parks of the United States, it is possible to own land and to live inside some parts of a national park in Japan.

Norikura Kogen is a sprawling highland in the foothills of Mount Norikura.

I was give an opportunity to design two original posters for the souther region of the Chubusangaku National Park – also know as the “Birthplace of the Japanese Alps”.

The first poster features the profile of Mt. Yari, one of the most iconic peaks in the Japan with a yamagoya (mountain hut) in the foreground.

The second poster portrays the depth of the mountains beginning with the Azusa river, Mount Norikura, Mount Yake with steam rising from the side, Mount Hotaka, and finally Mount Yari in the back. The textures were created from pine needles and birch seeds from the area.
