3 Things worth sharing #3

For years I have been a bit of an info junkie. I use to use this thing called Google Reader that let me subscribe to and read a lot more stuff in a lot less time. It worked great until Google killed it off so now I find most of the things worth reading from my Facebook feed that is littered with posts from my favorite people, brands and organisations.

So recently I have been picking 3 of my favorite stories or articles from the week and sharing them with a few of my thoughts.

Let me know if you enjoy them.

I came across the first post from a Tweet by CJ Casciotta who is the creator of Sounds Like a Movement, check him out for some inspiration on creating and moving.

I loved what Jon Foreman wrote about the chaotic balance we all live in, that place between knowing and wondering. We can try to avoid the chaos and stay in control but I think that will leave us in a very monotone world that is not very exciting. In the last 24 months or so I have been learning to enjoy the place between Chaos and Control.

Chaos vs. Control

“The place where you announce your limitations is where growth begins.”

The second is from one of my favorite authors Donald Miller who created the Storyline blog and StoryBrand.

When I saw this title, I just had to read it and I am glad I did. It’s such a simple tip but it can change how you approach writing. It is changing how I am writing this now. I want to share something with you that matters, something that could affect your life and help you move forward.

The Best Writing Advice I’ve Ever Received

“Add to this, most writers don’t think there work really matters. I’ve met writers who have sold thousands of books and still don’t think anybody’s life has been changed by their efforts. There’s an enemy whispering in their ear, I think.”

My wife and I have been listening to the new Hillsong United album Empires a lot lately and have been encouraged by the words and convictions that they write and sign about. Check out their new Lyric Video below.

Captain Official lyric Video

“Through waters uncharted my soul will embark
I’ll follow Your voice straight into the dark
And if from the course You intend
I depart
Speak to the sails of my wondering heart”
