A small bakery called “kopin.” specializing in baguettes opeoned about a year ago in Matsumoto and started serving Norikura Pioneer Roasters coffee. He asked us to make a display to highlight the coffee in his shop.
I used an antique door that came out of the Idea Lab building for the frame and then added legs with a shelf and a tabletop from other reclaimed wood we had on hand.
I took the parts to his shop and fabricated it in place. He uses the display to serve coffee and also store jars for pickup customers.
The final design was treated with coffee grinds to give it a consistent brown tone. Not bad for an old banged up door.
