Mount Norikura

Snowfall has been a bit on the delinquent side this winter here in the village. There has been snow on Mount Norikura since the end of October but it’s been a long wait since then.

We got up and enjoyed the pre-peak fall colors on Mount Norikura as we hiked down from Daisekeguchi to Kuraigahara Sanso.

Mount Norikura is considered one of the easiest peaks in Japan over 3,000m to hike and offers an amazing high alpine experience even if you stay around the bus terminal. You can find more info about getting access and current weather info here.
