It’s almost new year’s eve and the snow is falling again here in Norikura Kogen. I took the kids to their ski club and decided to take a few clips of the beautiful snow coming down.

Although the ski resort is open we are yet to see decent snow in the village this year. As of today the road to Ichinose Meadow which on a typical year is only accessible by foot after mid-November was clear and dry.

-9˚ Mornings makes for some pretty frost on the windows this morning. Up in Suzuran near the Visitors Center there is still a bit of snow on the ground from last week.

We invited some friends from Takayama to come ride with us at the Mt. Norikura Snow Resort here in Norikura Kogen. They ride a lot at Hoonoki Daira on the Takayama side so today was a new experience from them on the Matsumoto side of Mount Norikura.

There are multiple ski areas on or near Mount Norikura. There is Mt. Norikura Snow Resort on the Matsumoto side and there are Hirayu Onsen Ski Area and Hoonoki Daira Ski Area on the Takayama side.
